Alex Townsend is a skilled musician who enjoys both live performance and session playing. His main instrument is keys, but can also play guitar and bass if needed. He started piano at 5 years old on an old small casio keyboard and fell in love with the instrument and music entirely, getting his first upright piano at 8. He takes influence and is inspired by players such as: Richard Tee, Woody Goss, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel and Jack Conte. After reaching 17 he was asked by Distort Music Tuition to start teaching piano there which greatly improved his knowledge of both the fundamentals and more advanced topics including extending jazz harmonies, chord substitutions and polyrhythms...
